Couples - A Shakespearean Cabaret

February 2012

A cabaret night of love, exploring relationships both old and new, through famous couples from Shakespeare using physical theatre, music and clowning.

A Glee style Romeo and Juliet, Titania and Bottom at the Cheshire show, mad Malvolio and a rather stupid Cupid. This show was the first  that Physical Folk came together for, creating a bawdy night celebrating Shakespeare.

Audience Feedback:

'An energetic, engaging and generous performance, great laughs and humour as well as incredibly engaging serious moments.'

'Very innovative. Great energy. Lots of fun. Well done.'

'I laughed. I cried. I loved it all.'

'Brilliant! Funny, moving and very enjoyable. Thank you'

'Wonderful evening, fantastic performances and a lovely atmosphere.'

Bobby (Nobody wakes up in Dreamland)

July 2012

Bobby is a tragi-comedy charting the highs and lows in the life of one boy. A fascinating modern-day, dark fairytale told through a blend of physical theatre, live music and puppetry. Experience our Lewis Carroll-esque surreal world where objects come to life and emotions are carried in boxes.

"I cannot recommend this show too highly, it is entertaining, thought provoking and I have never before wanted to give a puppet a hug and tell him it would all be alright...but this is that show!"

Official Buxton Fringe Review

"Everything about this piece is worth seeing. The choreography is well-planned and well-performed, and works well to punctuate the narrative – as do the improvised and well-designed props and cue-cards written for the audience, which convey cityscapes and Bobby's personal desires.  It ends much as it begins, and serves as a reminder that we cannot live without hope."

Six Million Stars

September 2012

Six Million Stars is a thought provoking yet heart warming piece of theatre about some of the victims of the holocaust.  The tragedy of one of  Europe's darkest hours is played out using physical theatre, puppetry and clowning.

"The production was entertaining, thought provoking and had some beautiful moments."

-Yasmin, Year 13, Marylebone High School.

"An absolutely stunning piece of theatre that brought the characters and their stories to vivid life. Funny and moving by turns. Creative and inspirational use of physicality, movement, song, sound, objects, clothes, simple set."

-Ali Carroll, Youth Leader, Progress Theatre.

Pantsomime

December 2012

A slapstick, comedy special!

The set has been nicked and the actors have scarpered, but the show must go on. An exploration into the whys and whatnots of Pantomime from the "He's behind you", the "Oh no he isn't" and what really happens at the rear end of a cow.

Audience Feedback:

"SAW THIS LAST NIGHT. NEVER LAUGHED SO MUCH! Going again tonight."

"You should come and look at this excellent piece of physical theatre. Miss it at your peril"
